Citrus Academy staff are active in promoting our services at various career and bursary fairs, symposia and industry-related events countrywide throughout the year.

We also acknowledge our bursary fund students through their involvement in internship programmes, vacation work, and team-building workshops, as well as recognising their achievements at graduation events, and award presentations.

Citrus Short Course (Sunday's River Valley), November 2018

The Citrus Short Course is aimed at those who are already involved in citrus production, and those who are qualified in production management and looking to get involved in citrus production. The 3-day course has been designed to provide these learners with the opportunity to obtain a high-level understanding of all aspects of citrus production in a short period of time.

Congratulations to Tsakani Mabunda, the winner of the AgriSETA Excellence Award for Best Performing Learner: Learnership.

Tsakani completed the Citrus Business Management Programme in September 2017, an 8-month programme covering a wide range of topics related to entrepreneurship, business planning and management.

Bursary Fund students, Zamazimi Njili and Florence Kabanda, attended the CRI Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Workshop in Addo, in the Eastern Cape.

Zama is a 4th year BTech Agricultural Management student at Nelson Mandela University, and Florence is doing her PhD (Horticulture) at the University of Fort Hare.

Through the Industry Exposure Programme, the Citrus Academy provides opportunities for Bursary Fund students to attend conferences, workshops, symposia, study tours, and other events that are related to their field of study.

Neil Ndlovu and Nomalunga Zwane, both N Dip Agric Plant Production students at the University of Mpumalanga, attended the CRI Pest and Disease Management Workshop held at Die Eiland in Letsitele on the 4 & 5th of September.

Citrus Academy staff were at the UKZN College of Agriculture, Engineering and Science Career Fair in Pietermaritzburg and met with many undergraduate and postgraduate students, informing enquiring minds about our industry and the Citrus Academy Bursary Fund.
